Danielle L. Carreira Ching is a sixth-year doctoral candidate pursuing her PsyD in clinical psychology at Hawaiʻi Pacific University. She has worked with Hawaiʻi’s youth for over 20 years. Danielle received their Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Hawaiʻi at West Oʻahu and completed postgraduate coursework and research at Goldsmiths, University of London. Danielle is most recently a Senior Implementation Research Assistant with The Baker Center for Children and Families working under the supervision of Dr. Kelsie H. Okamura on Mohala Na Pua, a community-driven substance use prevention adaptation of Hoʻouna Pono, for the Windward School District of Oʻahu. She will begin predoctoral internship with I Ola Lāhui starting in Fall 2026.

My name is Danielle Lanakila Carreira Ching. My name is an ancestral name. I am from Kahaluʻu Hawaiʻi on the Island of Oʻahu. I am Native Hawaiian, Chinese, Irish, British, and Native American. I am a new Hawaiian language student at Windward Community College.
